Leadership changes at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital

David Klein, MD, MBA, will leave his role of CEO/President of Saint Francis Memorial Hospital and St. Mary’s Medical Center on August 28, 2020. A close friend of the Foundation, Dr. Klein, who joined Saint Francis in 2016, has led our community hospital through this extraordinarily challenging time. We are grateful for his service and wish him well.

Jeffrey (Jeff) D. Fee will serve as Interim CEO/President of Saint Francis Memorial Hospital and St. Mary’s Medical Center starting August 24, providing interim leadership of the two San Francisco hospitals following the departure of Dr. Klein. With more than 20 years of experience as a senior executive in health care, Jeff was most recently CEO and Co-Founder of PatientOne, Inc., a health care technology startup.

This leadership transition does not affect the Foundation’s work or funding plans. The Foundation looks forward to working with Jeff while a search for a permanent Hospital CEO is underway.
